Summer Lovin’ Lips

I’m sure all of you women can relate… you’re constantly reaching for a lip gloss in your bottomless hole of a pit that you call your purse. Sometimes I feel like Mary Poppins (like I’m going to pull out a lamp or something LOL.)

I’m the first to admit that I’M ADDICTED to lip gloss/ lipstick. I’m constantly “glossing up.” If i was on a desert island, I would definitely choose bringing my lip gloss (and a hair elastic and hand lotion of course!) as the one thing that I was allowed to bring with me (even over my husband- haha joke joke- I guess someone would need to build me a fire, build me a shelter, feed me and protect me. OK OK I would choose him ;))

Before you apply anything to your lips you need to exfoliate them (YES- you do.. no point applying anything on your lips when they are dry and cracked)

Here is a quick and easy homemade scrub:

Sugar lips: White or brown sugar will work for this sweet recipe. In a lidded plastic bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with ½ teaspoon of olive oil. Dip your finger in the mix and rub it on your lips for about 10 seconds. Rinse the scrub off with warm water. You could also use a facecloth with soap as a quick fix.

Above are a few of my faves from left to right:

Jane Iredale Lip and Cheek Stain- Great for a day at the beach

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain- I use this as my base so my lips still have colour mid day. I apply a gloss over top

Mark by Avon Juicy Gems- old faithful, I like to buy this one in large quantities

MUAH- Happy Glossing xo Andrea
